I got out of Provo and visited the land of Nampa, Idaho this weekend. Fiancé and I headed out Friday on a trek that only ended up being a 5 ½ hour drive [thankfully, I don’t do too well on long drives unless I have adequate snacks, entertainment and the occasional pit stop]. I agreed to get us from Provo to Kaysville where we had to drop my keys off to my Dad so that he could get the car fixed [more on that in another post]. So I drove 1 hour and fiancé drove 4 ½ . I know not totally fair but I HATE driving in the dark and it was probably better that I didn’t for the safety of both of us.

The drive was actually really pretty enjoyable. Favorite part of the drive down was our pit stop in some po-dunk never been heard of before town. It was late and freezing cold. Fiancé and I wanted to stretch our legs a bit so we decided to race! While fiancé bent down to tie his shoes I said “go!” and took off [I know totally cheating but a girl has got to do what a girl has got to do]. I still lost so my cheating doesn’t really count. That boy is fast and has longer legs than me. Fiancé gave me a piggy back ride the rest of the way when I quit half way because I had obviously lost. We both got back in the car completely winded and feeling like maybe we should work out more.

We arrived in Nampa about 11:30 and stopped in to see fiancé’s oldest brother who was blessing his new baby [the reason for the trip] before we headed to grandpa and grandma's house. It was so fun to get to see fiance's oldest brother and his wife, seeing as how the last time I saw them was over a year ago. They have three adorable little girls who I basically fell in love with the moment I met them.

One of the funniest moments of the whole trip was when I first met Ellie [daughter #2 of fiance's oldest brother]. She was sitting on my lap and looking up at me and the first words out of her mouth were “What are those red dots?” Can a 21 year old be embarrassed by a 2 year old, yes, yes she can. I was somewhat grateful that no one else was really paying attention otherwise the rest of my face would have gone red. I responded explaining that the red dots are zits. Her reply “How did they get there?” This threw me for a second but I ended up telling her that sometimes they just come. This seemed to satisfy her and we were able to move on to the fact that she is going to be 3 years old on her next birthday although she was completely convinced that she was going to be 4. It was one of those moments that you secretly want to burst out laughing and truly cherish the pure innocence of children.

I was privileged to stay in the pink room at grandma and grandpa’s house [which the bed was actually really comfortable]. You couldn’t get away with murder in that house though because EVERYONE is aware of ANYWHERE you move. Let’s just say it is an old house and there is a lot of creaking going on. I enjoyed great meals, a four wheeler ride around the farm, good conversation, lively games of Rook and of course wonderful quality time with fiancé. It was a fantastic weekend and made for a MEAN Monday.

Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Forgive the bad pictures of me but don't the other two look adorable! This is Ellie and fiance.

Ellie (left) and Blair (right) were getting swung in the blanket. So cute!Ellie in fiances hat. We had to convince her to keep it on for the picture.Obviously I had a lot of fun taking pictures with Ellie.

We had a JUMPIN good time!

Basically the pink room was my hang out as a little one....good memories with rooms being named colors( according to the carpet) and this is also the reason Jon and i will someday have a canopy bed!
